The hermitage of S. Ilarione

“The renowned hermitage of saint Ilarione”, built on a promontory above the Allaro river. It comprises a small church and a number of rooms for monastic use, where the hermits did penance, in an exemplary manner, dressed in rough torn “Zegrini” robes.

The church of the
Madonna di Crochi

The small church of the Madonna di Crochi stands on one of the banks of the Amusa river. On the second Sunday of September, almost all the people who live near and around this place come together, as if answering an ancient summoning, to pay homage to the Santissima Vergine. Apart from the felt religious obligation, the procession which takes place along the river is characteristic and coincides with the sagra (fair) of the goats and the crushed olives.
